It's Totally Laziness. Period.

It's 2016 for God's sake. So it has been what? A year since I last looked into this blog? I was reading through it the whole afternoon and thought "Hey, you have a goddamn emo soul, yo!" And yeah, no need for applause. It's a fact.

The reason I thought I want to write back it, to improve my sucky english coz I've been married and we communicate in so many rojak language  to entertain my long lost reader. I've also been actively updating my FanFiction on Samurai Deeper Kyo and I'm proud of it!

I will be starting a new role in another 5 days and I'm damn nervous. New job, new responsibilities, better pay. Lolz. After reading this blog, the old entries I mean, I realized I love to use the word stagnant and for a while ( a long god damn while ) I was stagnant. Feels like my life shuts down and my relationship with the fibre-optic love (blogs, Twitter, etc.) was dead. Well, not entirely. I'm pretty active on Facebook and Instagram.

I took a couple of days off of work just to relax and unwind with my Pumpkin (he needed the  break more than I do).

So this entry is dedicated to my recent trip back to Hometown (first trip together as husband and wife * omg.. it still sounds weird to me even after 1 1/2 years* )

Well, after the wedding, I never went back to my hometown, since my parents are staying here with us, I thought it was not necessary to go back and all. However, this time, I was craving for authentic Sarawakian cuisines *yes, namely Kolok mee, Laksa, etc. *

So feast thy eyes with the below!!! (just some photos with Hattori in it *Hattori is my whale shark *)

Hattori and Laksa Sarawak

Until next time readers!

I'm back from my short holiday!!

I just got back from my short (but awesome :D) holiday, in my hometown. I've never thought a four-day trip could be so relaxing. Maybe I just needed some time for myself. But then again, I never really get to relax. Since Day 1, I was occupied with so many things, not to mention I was caught in a plan I never knew about. Although I didn't get to do many of my own things, I'm happy I get to spend time with almost all of my branch family members. And oh, did I mention the food? :D I enjoyed this trip so much, I even slept in the car because of exhaustion every end of the day!

Laksa Bowl: Yes, it's empty :D

At least, I get to spend some time with Ryl, Debra and Cyn. (Thanks Ryl for the car. I lap you!) Hung out with Chrys at Bing. Had post-birthday celebration and Meat-Fest at Hornbill Steamboat and Grill, Mee Merah (uber-delicious red Noodle at Uncle Lim), Laksa Sarawak, Kolok Mee at Ah Lai, Damit Satay (pun: be damn by the skewers. haha) I swear I gained at least 10 pounds. * runs *

Satay Damit (Not DAM*ED)

This is what we're talking about! The real shizz y'all! Uncle Lim's Mee Merah wOOOt!

When I arrived in KL, I was so excited to see Pumpkin that I left a box of Salted Terubok Fish, a bag of cheese sticks, a whole bag of awesome chicken snacks and my favourite black sweater at KL Sentral D: I know.. You don't have to say it, I am the Goddess of Clumsiness and Carelessness. I received a good scolding from Mummy the next morning. =_=

Not gonna type much but, here are some of the photos from the trip :D

Hello Steamboat and grill ( and 100 poundsss)

Dusk: Late journey to Sematan

Dawn: Late night and early rise at Sematan

Mozzarella Cheese Sticks!

So I was craving for mozzarella cheese sticks. :3
I tried to do it on my own and then....

Smoked Chicken slices with beef bacon and cheese sandwich + Mozzarella cheese stick.

The recipe:

It's seriously simple. All u need is

1 pkt of Dorito's
1 egg
1 block of mozzarella cheese

Crushed the chips, or rather try to pulverize it. LOL. Cut the cheese block into sticks, about 1.5 x 1.5cm. Dip the cheese sticks into the beaten egg and cover it with the crushed chips. Do this twice. Finally, deep fry the sh*t!

Enjoy :D

Mom's Birthday

Today 11/28 is Mommy's birthday. O-tanjoubi omedetou, Haha-ue!! * hugs *

I woke up feeling like shit today. Not gonna lie or cover it up with sugary words. I woke up feeling like shit. There, ni dou itta. I planned to clean the house and cook for Mom today but since I wasn't really in the mood, I ALMOST decided to forget about everything and sleep in. I was on twitter for a while tweeting with my Olympians gang and yeah.. they cheer me up. So I decided "What the hell! It's your Mom's birthday for goodness' sake!" So I got up and went to get her a piece of cake, at least.

When I reached the mall, I had memory lapse. I got out of the car and stood there for a while and thought "What am I doing here?" I walked a while and went to Starbucks, got myself the usual Iced Caramel Macchiato and then I remembered the reason why I was out. To get my mom her birthday cake =_= lol! So I went to Secret Recipe and bought some carrot cake.

Instead of getting her a piece, I ended up buying a whole cake. Why? I dunno, I feel that it's more fun to blow more candles than just one! Got some pizzas too!

Mom was surprised when I knocked on her door. She was still sleeping when I carried the cake to her room and :)

Btw, I'm starting on "Norwegian Wood" and I finally finished reading "Blind Willow, Sleeping Woman" both by Murakami. Will review on this when I have the time... and I want to meet that Shinagawa Monkey so he can take my name and erase my memory. =(

Part 1: Life is about taking risk and chances - go jump in the fire and die...

... and then relive like the phoenix....

O-hisashi buri desu!

I haven't got the time to write, been busy with life (not really...). Well, those few weeks that I was gone were filled with joy and laughters! I've been enjoying life, though it's crappy and most of the time it sucks, I did cherish it. More like struggling towards happiness. But it's all good. Anyway, Here are some of the things I did during my "sudden-holiday-because-my-youth-is-crumbling" weeks..

Wander aimlessly on a Friday afternoon

Saturday's breakfast @ Starbucks

Walking the early Sunday

Going Places unintentionally

Indulge good good food everyday

Will update more when i have the time..

adieu~

akira.

The Trash and The Trasher

I've been thinking a lot about how my body is a walking trash can and it recently fail (almost failing) to filter grimes from all the foods I've been eating for the past 25 years. I usually don't care about these things (especially my health. That's not the first time and everyone around me knows that pretty well by now). The thought of me being killed by my own neglect forced me to start thinking about solutions on how to fix my body and soul that I have abandoned for so long. (I seriously had a rude awakening, that's the main reason).

My mother, who's very supportive with this decision (of course she is, she's been yapping all my life for me to realize this), took a head start. She cleans up the fridge (byebye Snickers, Ice Cream, nuggets, beef patties, sausages, cheese, carbonated drinks) and replaced all with fruits and veggies. I'm not a veggie person. I can eat, but I don't like it. I'm more of a meat person. But, due to this health thing, I have to like it and had made them my bestfriends. Munching on carrots and celery while watching Tears to Tiara is not one of my favourite things.

Pic 1: Weekly groceries- Talk about eating healthy :(

Pic 2: One of the daily lunchpacks - Raw Veggies, grilled beef and Vinaigrette

Pic 3: Dinner - Mom always try to make it as different and as interesting as possible

My first reaction was the same reaction when Hanii-senpai's cake was taken away from him by Morii-senpai. (Refer: Ouran High School Host Club Episode 12: "Hanii-senpai no Amakunai Mikkakan" (ハニー先輩の甘くない三日間) ) Except, instead of a mere cavity I have to unclog my whole digestive system. When I think about it, it's not like I never experienced a 'bloody encounter' before, in fact, it was a number of times. But why wasn't I aware of the condition of my 'soon-to-be-rotten-if-no-action-taken' body? Yeah... I'm just doing myself a little favour.

My everyday lunchboxes varies from many fashion of salad and dressings, raw veggies and fruits. It's painful at first, but my health's getting better. My sleep's getting better. NO MORE STRESS . Stress is not really out of hand lately. And I can keep myself sane most of the time. I can sleep peacefully at night and I wake up early most mornings. And I'm pretty happy about it.

**********************************************************************************

Last Thursday, I suddenly feel like watching X-Men. So I dragged my brother, his pregnant wife and the two year old Chib to One Utama to catch a 1am show. It's holiday the next day, and the cinema was packed. We didn't want to let Chib tag along coz it was late and we didn't think we could get tickets, but thanks to Chib (Seriously thanks to Chib) the phone-reserved seats were sold to us. And the nice guy who actually waited in the looooooooooooooooooooooong line for it was willing to buy it for us because he thinks Chib is cute. (Thank You Nice Guy at GSC who bought us tickets on Friday Morning!!!! m(_ _)m)

Pic 4: The four of us.
We arrived home at almost 4am and my brother had to go to work at 8 and he managed to wake up early and go to work with a fresh face (Congrates!!!). One the other hand, I was trashed in bed until 10. It was a holiday. So who cares?

Saturday Night's Dinner

Monday was a holiday and I had a long weekend. Usually, I won't bother about what to eat since eventually I'd be waking up late and sleeping early on holidays. Friday night, my brother invited me to Sakae Sushi with his family. Although I had already ordered dinner and was waiting for the delivery, I was thinking I should go. It's been a while since I had Salmon Sashimi (*starry eyes*) . It was good. Even though I hate to say I really despise the current shoyu at Sakae Sushi.

I went to Tesco and I decided to cook dinner on Saturday and invited my brother and his family to my apartment. I haven't been in the kitchen since my mom was here and I thought I must do some cooking or else my skills will be gone with the wind. Although I started at 4.30pm, I must say I did pretty well and everything was done before 7. I made Roasted Beef, Baked Potatoes and Savoury Rice.

Baked Potatoes ala Akira

Recipe for the Baked Potatoes:

Ingredients:

3 cleaned potatoes
2 teaspoons of dry basil
2 teaspoons of dry thyme
3 small cubes butter
canola oil
salt

Wash the potatoes and deep-cut potatoes (do not slice it) . Drizzle some canola oil on top of the potatoes and sprinkle dry basil, dry thyme and salt. Put the cube butter on top of each potatoes and wrap them in foil. Bake in the oven (200
oC / 392oF) for about an hour. Easy Breezy.

Roast Beef ala Akira

This one's easy breezy too:

Recipe for the Roast Beef:

Ingredients:

500 gm australian beef
2 teaspoons dry oregano
2 teaspoons dry thyme
2 teaspoons Italian herbs
salt and pepper
olive oil
1 teaspoon garlic powder

Mix all together. Put in the fridge for 24 hours. Then later in the oven for about 1 1/2 hour, (200oC / 392oF). Slice the beef when it's done. Easy??

Savoury Rice ala Akira

This ones pretty easy too:

Recipe for the Savoury Rice:

Ingredients:

2 cups of fragrant Rice (lightly washed)
1 bulb onion (chopped)
2 carrots (cubed)
chopped basil leaves
melted butter
salt
4 cups water

Fry the rice together with chopped onion and carrots with the melted butter. Add in the chopped basil leaves and add water slowly. Put the lid on and leave it on slow fire. I'm not sure how long it takes to cook this but, I assume maybe 20 mins.

You can try if you want. At least I know it's not poisonous. Hahaha!

The Soba, The Croquette, The Tausa and The Trip

I've been yapping "Soba! Soba! Soba! Soba! Soba! Soba! Soba! Soba! Soba! Soba!" the whole week. My dream of having it for lunch yesterday afternoon was crushed by another trip to McDonald's (coz my boss wanted to eat Chicken Prosperity Burger...*pfft*). But last night finally, I was able to devour it, together with the forever indescribable goodness of Croquette at Sushi King. I never knew the Croquette was so good to be eaten together with Chicken Teriyaki Soba. The best word to describe it: "Subarashii". It was like heaven... Epiphany maybe?

The soba was superb (I bet it was not as good as the ones you can find in Japan a.k.a The Original Teriyaki Soba) but it was okay to kill the craving attack. The soup was slightly sweet and the soba noodle itself was quite soggy (they probably overcooked it). I still prefer cold soba over this but it was not a deep disappointment for me as I was fired to the max to dig in the Croquette.

Figure 1 : Sushi King no Tori Teriyaki Soba

I started with 4 pieces of sushi while reading about Liesel and Tom, and when the 'main course' arrived, i started mixing the wasabi and shoyu.... drooling... ;P I poke the Croquette with my chopsticks. It was crunchy on the outside and inside was soft. And the smell...oh, the smell~

Figure 2: Sushi King no Croquette

Dipping the Croquette in the Wasabi + Shoyu mix was brilliant. The sweet taste of the soft taro and the crunchiness of the breaded surface was heaven. (I'm seriously out of words to describe it). The taro melted in my mouth! (Okay... i exagerate a little... a lot). But it was good, i tell ya. After a few cups of hot green tea, I left with a big smile painted on my face. It was great.

Last night, my mom's aunt called her and invited all of us to go to Seremban during the Chinese New Year break. She called me yesterday too, to make sure I was free. My parents talked to me about it last night (I couldn't sleep, coz I was too excited about today*.) I deliberately reject the idea. I just wanted to see their reaction. That's all. Hahah!! Boy, was Chichi-ue mad. He really wanted me to have a good break, as in a little vacation for myself. Haha-ue was trying so hard to make me say 'Yes'. But the thing is, they didn't know that I do want to go and even planned a little trip along the way (like.... going to Melaka perhaps...). I told them "I'll think about it. Let me sleep". Hahaha.

This morning, I had my favourite Tausa Pao. It's been a while since I had it. I call it "Taisa-dono" coz it does sounded like Taisa a little. I was happy that i get to eat it today. I wanted to buy it yesterday but when i reached the shop that sells it, it was too early and they were still steaming it.

Pic 3: Tausa Pao
*Today: I can't wait to go back today. I'm gonna go pick up my manga and I'm gonna meet my old friend.

To all my friends who celebrate Chinese New Year: Gong Xi Fa Chai
Have a prosperous one!!

Until next time.
